Just some quick lists, anyway.<\/p>\n<p><b>Five Great Things In The UK<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.bbc.co.uk\/\">The BBC<\/a><br \/>\n<\/p>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.camra.org.uk\">Real Ale<\/a><br \/>\n<\/p>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.guardian.co.uk\">Good newspapers<\/a><br \/>\n<\/p>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.nationaltrust.co.uk\">Historical\/interesting buildings<\/a><br \/>\n<\/p>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.ramblers.org.uk\/campaigns\/footpaths.html\">Public footpaths<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ordnancesurvey.co.uk\/\">Ordnance Survey maps<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>On the other hand&#8230;<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.dailystar.co.uk\/\">Terrible<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.dailysport.net\/\">awful<\/a>, and just plain <a href=\"http:\/\/www.thesun.co.uk\">bad<\/a> newspapers with bare-faced right-wing political agendas<br \/>\n<\/p>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.tfl.gov.uk\/\">Getting around London<\/a> (yeah, The Tube works, but I can&#8217;t stand it, and traffic&#8217;s always bad)<br \/>\n<\/p>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.bbc.co.uk\/weather\/ukweather\/index.shtml\">Cold drizzly weather<\/a> (though the 2003 summer was fantastic)<br \/>\n<\/p>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.nationalfront.org\/\">Racist pricks<\/a><\/ul>\n<p>Oh, there are stickers on my bike now advertising my scooter travel site: <a href=\"http:\/\/byscooter.com\">byscooter.com<\/a>. I wonder if they&#8217;ll work, and if they do, why I bothered in the first place. It&#8217;s mostly a personal thing, but hopefully someone will get something out of it. Actually, typing that, they have. A researcher collecting odd toilet signs spotted the picture of the toilet in the youth hostel in Gent, but I&#8217;ll leave it as an exercise to the reader to find it.
